Faith
Faith. What is it? Where does it come from? Why do we need it? Why is it important? Finally, How do we use our faith? Scripture gives us the answers to all our questions.
What is faith? Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see (Hebrews 11:1). It is simply believing and trusting God's word.
Where does faith come from? Faith comes from hearing the message and the message is heard through the word of Christ (Romans 10:17).
Why is faith important? For it is by grace you have been saved through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works so that no one can boast (Ephesians 2:8-9). And without faith it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him (Hebrews 11:6).
How do we use our faith? We live by faith not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). Also, my righteous one will live by faith and if he shrinks back I will not be pleased with him. (Hebrews 10:38)
