Honor Thy Father

Some of my earliest and fondest memories of my father from childhood are of a man with great wit and wisdom. A proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII, he captivated us kids by telling of his many military experiences. These experiences would serve him well in life.

Like many in his generation, my father never had more than a sixth or seventh grade education. But, he had an incredible work ethic. My father was a wonderful provider for our large family. In a household with eleven children, there were many to feed and clothe. Daddy always reminded us that his provisions for the family was his way of showing us his love. Daddy understood his God given responsibility as father and head of the family. My father was not perfect, but he did his best in the areas that matter. For this, he is honored.

Our earthly fathers and mothers are not perfect. Yet, our Heavenly Father who is perfect tells us to "Honor thy father and mother" , Exodus 20:12.

The pictures above include previous jobs held by my father.
