His Justice Prevails
Daily we see or hear stories of injustice in our society. Injustices that include racial, economic, social injustice or gender inequality; police brutality/shootings of unarmed African Americans; victims of the "Me Too Movement," wrongly incarcerated, fraudulent business schemes targeting the elderly or the unsuspecting; unethical policies in schools, work and government. The list goes on and on. But, injustice is nothing new. In fact, sin ushered injustice into a fallen world with the disobedience of Adam and Eve.
Perhaps you or your family have experienced injustice personally and need encouragement. There is no need to worry. The bible is full of God's word concerning justice. God reminds us that His justice prevails. In the book of Genesis, Joseph endured much injustice, but what Satan meant for harm God intended for good (Gen. 50:20). In Luke 18:1-8, God reminds us to always pray and not give up. Jesus tells the story of the persistent widow who was granted justice by an unjust judge. God said, "will I not bring about justice for my chosen ones who cry out to me day and night!" Isaiah 30:18 says, "Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; he rises to show you compassion." "For the Lord is a God of justice." "Blessed are those who wait for him." Finally, God tells us that if you have been treated unjustly, do not take revenge, but to leave room for his wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge, I will repay," says the Lord ( Romans 12:19).
