A Beautiful Greenhouse

My husband and I recently purchased a greenhouse online. We’ve been considering it for some time. Although we’re not avid gardeners, we do enjoy gardening. We love seeing the beautiful results of our meager efforts. Why a greenhouse? It seemed like a fun thing to do. We usually plant caladium bulbs every year and we thought a green house would be a delightful way to grow the bulbs before putting them into the ground. Also, a greenhouse offers weather protection, pest prevention and an opportunity to work up close with nature year-round while increasing production. You can do all this and more inside a greenhouse.

When our greenhouse finally arrived, it came as a kit in two giant flat cardboard boxes. The boxes contained an assortment of clear plastic panels, metal frames, screws and an instruction book for assembly. It was enough to frighten anyone who is mechanically challenged. Thank God my husband actually enjoys reading boring instructions and assembling things that can appear confusing to the novice. With some customizing, a few tweaks and installing a brick floor inside the greenhouse, we assembled the kit in about a week. We then planted our caladium bulbs along with other plants including tomatoes, peppers, okra and rosemary. A friend gave us a lovely strawberry vine in an adorable green planter’s bag along with a few seedling plants. We placed them all in our beautiful new greenhouse! Afterwards, we looked at our finished work and said, “It is good!”

Scripture says, that God saw all that he had made, and it was very good, Genesis 1:31. As His children, God blesses us to enjoy all these things. Our beautiful greenhouse is a gift that enables us to not only enjoy but, also nurture the growing things that God has created!

Food for Today:

“I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.”
