As a new school year begins, I am reminded of my many years as a classroom teacher where I always prepared to welcome a fresh new group of learners. While school kids return each fall to begin a new session of learning, learning is not reserved for school kids only. But there should be continuous learning for everyone throughout life. Regardless of our age we should seek personal growth as a learner for as long as we live.

An amazing quote for us to remember by Henry Ford, “Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young.” That should motivate us all to want to keep learning. In this month’s Podcast we will discuss the aspects and benefits of being a learner for life, as well as developing a lifelong learning mindset.

As always, we will consult God’s Word to see what does the Bible say about lifelong learning. Proverbs 1:7 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (knowledge).” This is foundational knowledge. God desires for us to be continuous learners for a lifetime! Proverbs 1:5 says, “Let the wise listen and add to their learning,” this emphasizes the importance of continuous seeking knowledge and wisdom.

While continuous earthly learning is important and necessary, growing in spiritual knowledge is especially important to God!
