This year, Kim Prewitt, TL for the BSF Garland Evening Women’s class in Garland, Texas, steps down after eight years as Teaching Leader. Kim, who is my Teaching Leader, has been in BSF for 30 years.

So, what is a Teaching Leader? You could say that a Teaching Leader is the ultimate teacher. A BSF Teaching Leader gives lectures over all lessons, presides over Leader’s Meetings, training those who facilitate adults and teach children in the Children’s Program.

Kim, who has been in BSF for 30 years, first came to a BSF Welcome class in May of 1996. At the time, she had five kids and saw it as an opportunity to get away from the kids for a couple of hours. As fate would have it, the BSF Children’s Program was beginning that same year. So, she enrolled her two oldest kids that same year. So much for getting away from the kids!

Now, a little bit about BSF – Bible Study Fellowship. It has been around for over 65 years, helping people deeply study God’s Word. It is a free interdenominational Bible study that is open to all, whether someone is new to the Bible or a Bible scholar. It is a global Bible Study with over 500,000 men, women and children from around the world. Each studying God’s Word, the same Scripture weekly both in person and online for 30 weeks (bsfinternational.org).

In this month’s Podcast, MDL shines the spotlight on my Teaching Leader, Mrs. Kim Prewitt. I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Kim to ask her a few questions about her role as Teaching Leader. Kim shares her greatest experiences and blessings as a TL. She also shares what she has learned about God, herself and more!
