Becoming Spiritually Disciplined

In this month’s Podcast, “Becoming Spiritually Disciplined,” our esteemed guest speaker, Pastor Kevin Bullard discusses the book, “Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life” by Donald S. Whitney.

Pastor Bullard is a native of North Carolina. He holds a B.S. in Journalism and Mass Communications, a Masters of Science and an Executive MBA in Leadership. He is currently working on his Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership. Licensed and ordained as a pastor in 2001, Pastor Bullard founded a ministry, “Marriage Works” which has over half a million followers. He and his wife Cetelia, along with their 3 kids have lived in Texas for over nine years. Pastor Bullard currently serves as the Interim Pastor at Mt. Hebron Missionary Church in Garland, Texas.

Pastor Bullard or Kevin as he is lovingly referred to by his congregation, answers pertinent questions on the topic of Spiritual Disciplines. He explains the difference between spiritual discipline and ordinary discipline. The former being for the purpose of godliness. The book covers 13 areas for spiritual disciplines including Bible intake, Prayer, Worship, Evangelism, Serving, Stewardship, Fasting, Silence/Solitude, Journaling, Learning and Perseverance. All for the purpose of godliness.

The book provides powerful practical biblical tools that would be beneficial for all to apply to their lives. In our recent interview, while answering our questions, Kevin gives the listeners an excellent overview of the book along with good takeaways and applications.

Scripture tells us, “Therefore, let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity,” Hebrews 6:1. Becoming spiritually disciplined is where it begins!
