Her Children Call Her Blessed
Recently my mother-in-law returned to her home after being away for six months. And, as far as she was concerned it wasn’t soon enough. You see, my mother-in-law fractured her hip in a fall. After surgery and a short stay in the hospital she entered a rehab facility. While on her way to recovery at rehab she contracted Covid. This caused a setback in her rehabilitation, but thankfully God healed her from Covid. He is still restoring her fractured hip and strengthening her each day. Since the Lord has brought her through all of this, we call her blessed.
I’ve known my mother-in-law for many years. She is a strong Christian woman who loves the Lord, her family and her friends. Throughout the years she has loved serving in her church and community. We call her blessed. I’ve seen her enjoy her husband, home and grandchildren. She has always loved cooking, canning, and sharing new recipes, many of which she has shared with me. We’ve all enjoyed her delicious apple sauce cakes and carrot cakes! Her home has always been a warm and welcoming place for family, friends and others. It has been a place where her Pastor was always a welcomed and frequent guest for Sunday dinners. My mother-in-law’s home is a place where her kids and grandkids alike will always cherish their memories of childhood, and their amazing love for her. And, so do I! We call her blessed.
God honors mothers for the role they play in loving and caring for their children, husband, home and others. Proverbs 31:28 says, “Her children arise and call her blessed.”
As we celebrate Mother’s Day this month, remember to honor and cherish your mother. I will always love, cherish and honor my mom who is now with the Lord, she too was called blessed.
