Before I introduce our topic, I give God all honor and praise for blessing “My Divine Living” this month with 18 years, almost two decades of writing! For those who may not know, it was back in 2007 when my column was launched, “My Divine Living” with the Garland Journal News newspaper. Mr. Willie Hobdy, the publisher and owner of that paper, gave me an opportunity to write for his paper as a Senior Columnist. In addition, he gave my daughters an opportunity to write a fashion column. So, I praise God for all He has done for me and for Willie’s kindness to us. “Thank you,” Willie! Without “My Divine Living” there would be no “MDL” Podcast. Happy 18 years “My Divine Living!”
Moving on to our topic today, we live in a world where everything seems to be moving very quickly. Our days are filled with schedules and tasks that keeps us busy from sun up to sun down. Some people are so busy that they feel they must make every minute count. This may be true for those in the fast-paced business world. However, as for the whole world, we should all make Every Day count! Since life and each day is not promised to us, we should all make every day count. There is a quote by an unknown author that says, “You will never have this day again, so make it count!” This is a profound and true statement.
In this month’s Podcast we will discuss ways to make each day count. As always, we will consult God’s word for what the Bible says about making each day count. An important thing to remember is that life is not a dress rehearsal for a play, but it is our real life. We should all live our lives wisely, using our time well and with purpose, but most importantly living according to God’s will.
Scripture says, “This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24). This is a great start for each of us to proclaim every day!
Food for Today:
Teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom. (Psalms 90:12)
