The Christmas season has been described in many ways. It has been called “Christmastime,” The Most Wonderful Time of Year,” “A Beautiful Season,” “The Holiday Season,” “The Season of Giving,” Yuletide Season,” “Noel,” “Jesus’s Birthday” and “The Miracle of Christmas!” While all the titles are good depictions of Christmas, the miracle of Christmas says it best.

Webster defines a miracle as an extraordinary event or accomplishment that is considered a sign of the supernatural power of God. The biblical definition of a miracle is an extraordinary event that is caused by God and cannot be explained by science. The Bible is filled with many miracles of God. The miracle of Christmas is one of those amazing miracles! It is a miracle wrapped up as the most precious gift ever given to mankind!

Scripture says, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and cometh down from the Father of lights, James 1:17. However, the Father gave us His most precious gift when He gave us His one and only Son, John 3:16. A quote by David Jeremiah says, “All the Christmas presents in the world are worth nothing without the presence of Christ.”

In this month’s Podcast we discuss the Miracle of Christmas, the virgin birth of Jesus. It is when God sent the angel Gabriel to Mary, a virgin who was engaged to Joseph. The angel explained to her that she would become pregnant through the Holy Spirit without requiring a human father. She would give birth to a son and would name him Jesus (Luke 1:30-31).

Finally, the Miracle of Christmas is a gift available to all who will receive it. A quote by John R. Rice says it best. “You can never truly enjoy Christmas until you can look up into the Father’s face and tell Him you have received His Christmas gift,” His wonderful Son Jesus as your Savior!

Our Food for Today: But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God.” “You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.” Luke 1:30-31
