Who Will You Tell?
My husband and I serve on the Evangelism Team at our church. Our mission is to share the Gospel with the unsaved. Since the beginning of the year, we have witnessed to numerous individuals. Some of these have included family members, repairmen at our home, store clerks, cashiers, telemarketers, medical workers, one of our doctors, his nurse, and both of my Covid vaccine nurses just to name a few.
This month Christians around the world will celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. After Christ had finished His work here on earth, He left us a command to go tell others the Good News of the Gospel.
Christ’s resurrection is the pinnacle on which our faith is built. All who believe and put their faith in Christ have eternal salvation. For we believe that God sent His Son Jesus to be crucified for our sins. Scripture says Christ died on the Cross on Friday, known as “Good Friday”, and was buried. After three days in the tomb, God raised Him from the dead. When Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to the tomb on the first day of the week after the Sabbath, they saw that the stone had been rolled away. An Angel told them, “Jesus is not here, He has risen!” “Come and see the place where he lay.” “Then go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead.” As the women filled with joy ran to tell the disciples, suddenly Jesus met them. Jesus said, “Do not be afraid”, “go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee, there they will see me”. When Jesus met with His disciples, He informed them with wonderful news for us all. “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me,” Matthew 28.
Because of Jesus’ great love for all mankind, He gave His disciples the Great Commission. “Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit,” Matthew 28:19. Thereby giving every individual an opportunity to know the Lord and Savior for themselves in order that they might have eternal life with Him.
As Christians, in light of all that we have seen with the passing of hundreds of thousands of individuals during this pandemic, there should be an urgency and concern for the eternal destiny of our fellow man. If nothing else, let us be obedient to God’s command to “Go and Tell”. So, “Who will you tell?”
